Malaysia – Palestine – 16/06/2015

FIFA World Cup 2018/Asian Cup 2019 Qualifier – Group A

Result: 0-6

Ticket price: 30 ringgit – about £5.10/7.10 euro

No programme, Malaysia home shirt 30 ringgit.

The Bukit Jalil Stadium is the 8th biggest football stadium in the world with a capacity of 87,411 and is 3rd tiered on all 4 sides but only 3,000 turned out for this game.

Malaysia fell to their joint worst ever defeat as Palestine took advantage of defending that could only be described as ‘amateur’. 3 goals in each half, and whilst possession/shots at goal stats were fairly even this was not in any way a competitive match and totally one sided.

Nice Stadium ! How come only 3000 supporters attend a game of the national team?

No idea why but it was full for the South East Asian Cup Final Second Leg v Thailand last December. There is support there, but clearly a game against an opponent 6500 miles away wasn’t that attractive!
