Estádio Nacional – Estádio do Jamor

After visiting Estádio do Restelo we left Belém for Estoril. On the way we stopped at Cruz Quebrada to visit the national stadium, known as Estádio Nacional or Estádio do Jamor. It's a nice walk uphill to the stadium but I it's worth the walk. Arrived at the ground, we were a bit dissappointed we couldn't get in because the gates were closed. After looking around for a few minutes we found out that the stadium has another entrance where a security agent gave us the permission to enter the ground.

The Estádio do Jamor was built in in 1939 and can hold 35.000 spectators. The ground hosts the annual Portuguese Cup Final and in 1967 the ground hosted the Champions Cup final between Celtic FC and Inter Milan, which ended in 2-1 with the players still known as the Lison Lions.
