As I had a week off it was the time to make a little tour. In the Frankfurt are were 2 games on Saturday and SV Sandhausen, which is a 1 hour drive from Frankfurt, was also playing at home on Friday. Our first stop was at SV Sandhausen a club founded in 1916. Before the war the club played at the highest levels of the Rhine Region in West-Germany. After the war Sandhausen played for several years at the 3rd, 4th and 5th tier of German football. In 2007 the club became champions in the Oberliga (5th tier) and 1 season later the were promoted again with a 5th position for the new, 3. Liga. In 2012 SV Sandhausen gained another promotion to the 2. Bundesliga from which they should have relegated after 1 season. They were lucky as MSV Duisburg were having financial troubles which made Sandhausen stay at the 2. Bundesliga.

The game against Greuther Fürth was absolutely nothing special. Many teams are still in need of points which was very visible on the pitch. Both teams were quite happy with a draw which resulted in a boring game with only a handful of chances with the better ones in the last minutes of the game.
